Day two in Raro - Queens for a night!

For our accommodation we decided that, having hostelled around China we could definitely hostel in Raro, so decided on Vara's on Muri Beach. We got a double room with ensuite for NZ$60 a night. Fantastic, we had a hillside villa and shared kitchen and living with two other rooms guests. While we were there there was 2 girls from England in one room and 2 girls from Scotland in the other, all 4 are on their way to NZ. There's not a heck of a lot to rush around doing in Rarotonga so, feeling a bit jaded, we lay down and had a bit of a snooze.

Then we hear H...E...L...L...O! and we have our first visitor, Jane! Jane's sister works at the Johnsonville Club and had given strict instructions that we were to get an Island welcome, so enter Jane!As part of our introduction to Rarotonga Jane invited us to a "Queens of Rarotonga" show at Castaways Resort. What a fabulous evening. The girls were magnificent! A few technical problems with the sound but it all added to the fun and spontaneity of the night. Another friend welcomed into our lives is Georgina who you'll hear more about later.

The girls did a variety of performances and thoroughly entertained everyone there. Afterwards when the rest of the audience had left for their beds Brent and I were entertained further, meeting all the girls, chatting and sipping the night away.... until about 2am. So much for nothing to do in Raro. We had a ball!
