Mumbles doing her Helitack rappeling

Well summer is approaching and the beginning of the fire season is in sight so it's time for the Wellington region Helitack Team to make sure we are all up to date with our training. This means that we have to do our "drops" from the helicopter. So last Saturday the team headed out to Wrights Hill, Karori and shortly afterwards the helicopter arrived and in 2 teams of 4 with a dispatcher running the show we set about doing our 3 x 60 foot drops, 1 x 120 ft drop and one long line retrieval.














While we are really aware of the need for safety and
care with every step we also manage to have an amazing
time and enjoy every minute!

Grandmas 80th Birthday June 2008

Just a few shots of the gathering for Grandma's birthday. The whole family was there except for the Intrepid travellers in China! A great weekend and Grandma loved the day. Dee shares a birthday with Grandma so the birthday girls had a laugh!
